DMD Dads Care partners with Give More Hugs on #GivingTuesday
It’s the season to give back and we are joining forces with the nonprofit Give More HUGS (Helping Unite Giving Souls) this #GivingTuesday to show the world the power of dads doing good. Give More HUGS founder Chris McGilvery is a DMD himself and we have chosen to partner with Give More HUGS to support students in under-served areas. Our children have shelves filled with books, but 1 of 4 children in low-income communities do not have access to books at home. Give More HUGS priority is to help ensure all children in Texas and the communities where their ambassadors live have access to books and school supplies.
As we approach the largest global day of giving, Giving Tuesday, we ask that you join us in our effort to give back to teachers and students in under-served areas across the United States. Every dollar raised on Facebook starting on Tuesday, November 27 at 5am PST will be matching dollar for dollar up to 7 million. Facebook and Paypal are matching donations to nonprofits. Nonprofit matching is limited to 250k per nonprofit, and 20 k per donor. This could be a big day for our DMD brother Chris McGilvery and his work at Give More HUGS. About Give More HUGS:
Each year, Give More HUGS train students to develop their leadership to provide books and school supplies to students in under-served areas. Each student who goes through our training has the potential to impact 1,000 students’ lives in a school. This year, Give More HUGS is training 31 students who are implementing the BookShare and Backpack program in their communities. Volunteering, working hard, and sharing the possibilities with education and inspiration for students in under-served communities.

What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. It all started in 2012, when 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation partnered to establish GivingTuesday.org, a global movement that has engaged more than 10,000 organizations worldwide, as well as communities, families, businesses, charities and students to celebrate generosity and to give.
Curtis is a dad to three little girls and has been married to an ER Doc for over 13 years. Life is busy, but life is good! He enjoys bourbon, poker and meeting new friends, which is what led him to create the facebook group, Dads Married to Doctors. His mantra, “Life is BETTER when we do life together!”
